Belarus Will Build A Lignite-Fired Thermal Power Station
A coal power plant with a capacity of over 400 MW may be built in Belarus, according to the Deputy Energy Minister Mikhail Mikhadyuk at the Belarusian Energy and Environmental Forum,.
"Today we are considering industrial development of the Lelchitskoe deposits of brown coal, and positive results of this study will be deployed to work on construction of a coal mine and a 400-460 MW thermal power station”, - said the Deputy Minister. Assessment works for industrial development of the deposit shall be performed by the MEP of Belarus.
The Project foresees investment, said Michael Mikhadyuk, without specifying from which country it may come.
It should be noted that construction of small CHP, lignite or steam coal fired, has long been practiced in Eastern Europe.
